Machu Picchu
It is a historical site of the Inca Civilization which has been well preserved until today. Located at an altitude of 2430 meters above sea level, the ancient city was built on an area of ​​13 square kilometers. The closest settlement to the ancient city of Machu Picchu is the center of Cusco, about 90 km from the area. The historic city, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1973, has been shown in the New 7 Wonders of the World since 2007. The region, which takes its name from the mountain, is visited by approximately 2 million people every year.

It is the area where the ruins of the Inka Castle belong to the Inca Civilization. Sacsayhuaman, which is located around the city of Cusco, is considered as an excellent city protection structure both in terms of location and size. This strategic fortress, where it has made very important defenses against Spanish attacks, has suffered much damage from attacks and natural disasters. Currently the castle looks like a ruin. Located close to the city of Cusca, Sacsayhuaman attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

Coricancha is a historic sun temple of the Inca Civilization in Cusco, famous for its historical monuments in Peru. The upper and lower parts of the temple are covered with gold and the temple dedicated to the Sun God İnti is important as the most valuable place of worship of the Incas. The Spanish colonists destroyed the temple and built a cathedral instead. Coricancha, known as one of the most precious stone structures of the Inca Empire, is one of the historical and touristic places of Peru.

Cathedral of Lima
It is a Roman Catholic church in Plaza Mayor, the most central point of the Peruvian capital, Lima. Designed by renowned architect Francisco Becerra, Lima Cathedral was created with Renaissance architecture, Neoclassical and Gothic architectural styles. Opened in 1538, the cathedral is also the center of the city’s archdiocese. The double-tower cathedral has an excellent ambience. Together with its architect Francisco Becerra, the cathedral is the eternal rest of many famous names, including Spanish commander Francisco Pizarro, politician Jose Manso de Velasco and famous composer Tomas de Torrejon y Velasco. Lima Cathedral, one of Peru’s sights, is one of the capital’s landmarks.

Cusco Cathedral
The spiritual building in the Plaza de Armas district of Cusco is also known as the Cathedral of St. Mary. The cathedral, which serves as a Roman Catholic church, is the archbishopric center of Cusco. The sacred work, which was co-designed by architects Juan Miguel de Veramendi, Juan Correa and Miguel Gutierrez Sencio, was opened in 1654. Cusco Cathedral, which used Renaissance architecture, Baroque architecture and Gothic architectural styles, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. Real Felipe Castle
It is a defense fortress that was created to protect the port and city from the pirates from the colonial years of Peru. The Real Felipe Castle, designed by French architect Louis Godin, was built between 1747 and 1774. The castle was defended with about 2,000 soldiers. Uniforms, weapons and other military items of this castle can be found at the Peruvian Army Museum. One of the most important defensive fortresses of the Middle Ages is the Real Felipe Castle.

Precolombino Museum of Art
The museum dedicated to Precolombino (pre-Columbian) art exhibitions is located in Cusco, Peru. There are 10 exhibition halls, the Mochica Room, the Huari Room, and the silver and gold items in the Incan Room are of great interest. The art museum, which has been in service since 2003, exhibits many jewelery. It is one of the museums that art lovers must visit during their trip to Peru.

Italian Museum of Art
It is an art museum under the direction of the National Institute of Culture of Lima. This public institution is important as the only European art museum in Peru. This institution was given to the 100th anniversary of the liberation of the country by the Italians in 1923 and in 1989 and in the following years around 35 works were added. The Italian Museum of Art exhibits more than 200 original works of art, including sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints and ceramic elements. Brazilian, Canadian, Korean and Chinese works, as well as works by Peruvian artist Fernando de Szyszlo are presented here.
